I am CandayceO. Nice, to meet you!

My hair philosophy is simply to make healthy hair my first priority. My second priority is making my clients happy.  If my client makes a request that will compromise the integrity of their hair, I am going to deny the request. It is not popular because in business, the customer is always right. However, I do not just want to be known as your personal hair stylist but I want to be known as your hair designer. “It really is all about the hair”. I am best known for my trendy short cuts and bold color placement. However, my greatest passion is in my ability to restore damaged hair back to a healthy state. I believe healthy hair is the foundation to any beautiful style.

I became a Shampoo Technician in Petersburg Virginia during the summer of 1998. During my tenure as a Shampoo Technician, the hair stylist I was assisting became my mentor. Eventually she would take me with her for Platform Artistry training on Dudley Products. Upon my first visit, I was so impressed by creative presentations from each professional hair stylist that I decided at that very moment I would also aspire to be the best hair stylist I could be. I worked for Shelda Terrangi for the remainder of high school until I graduated in 2001. After high school graduation, I enrolled in Dudley Cosmetology University, located in Kernersville, North Carolina. I graduated from DCU in 2002. While I was attending DCU, I was introduced to Patric Bradley and Kay Simpson, along with other phenomenal Dudley educators.

After graduating from DCU, I went back for advanced education classes such as, Master Cutting I and II; taught by Amos Jordan and Patric Bradley. To strengthen my skillset, I have taken Color and Cut Connect at Wella in New York City and other educational opportunities with companies such as, Bumble Bumble, Sebastian, and Farouk. In the spirit of versatility, I did not want to solely specialize in hair care for African American hair; therefore, in 2006 I went to work at Nesbit Salon in Richmond, Virginia. It was at this salon where my cutting and color skills were fine-tuned and I became well versed in multicultural hair care. At Nesbit Salon, I was positioned to be one of the highest producing professional hair stylists. It was one of the greatest experiences in my whole career. In 2008, Alfaparf Milano requested my expertise to be a color educator for one of their programs. There were three things I aspired to be great at in my career and they are: precision cutting, coloring and educating. In 2013, I resigned from Alfaparf Milano and joined Patric Bradley’s Team Hollywood.

I have been an educator at the Orlando Premiere Show, Houston Image Expo, as well as, large symposiums. I frequently conduct look and learn classes to educate other stylists and hair designers as well.  I have also been given the opportunity to work in different regions such as Roche Salon in Washington DC, Sensational U in Woodbridge Virginia, Nesbit Salon in Richmond Virginia, and currently True Perfection Hair Studio and Spa in Houston Texas. My goal to become the best hair stylist in Houston is definitely being solidified since styling acts like, “The Walls Group”, a young trendsetting Gospel group.
